Since 2007, the all-women AMPROCAL coffee cooperative in Ocotepeque, Honduras has worked hard to connect farmers with higher prices for their coffee on the international market.  Sustainability and environmental conservation is at the heart of the cooperative with pulp and honey water being turned into organic fertiliser - the women farmers are taught how to correctly prepare and apply to the land. The AMPROCAL itself is powered by the waste waters from coffee which produce bio-gas, making it carbon neutral. Supporting this coffee, means you are allowing women producers to break down gender imbalances in the coffee industry. It also supports their communities and provide teacher salaries, school supplies & uniform, sports programs and money to build fields.
