Meet our newest women producers coffee (and it is DECAF): Colombia ASOMUJER EA Sugarcane Decaf

ASOMUJER (Asociación de Campesinas del Sur del Huila) is an inspiring association of 75 women producers in Timaná, Huila. Founded in 2007 by just 10 women seeking better opportunities and fairer returns for their coffee, the organisation now supports activists, single mothers and women displaced by conflict, all committed to producing exceptional specialty coffee.

ASOMUJER is dedicated to improving livelihoods across their community. The organisation provides technical support throughout cultivation, processing and marketing, helping members consistently produce high-quality coffee while strengthening their economic independence.

Their vision extends beyond coffee production. Through education, training, capacity building and sustainable farming practices, ASOMUJER works to create lasting social, environmental and economic benefits for its members, collaborators and the wider region.

This coffee is decaffeinated using the EA Sugarcane Process, which uses naturally derived ethyl acetate from fermented sugarcane to gently remove caffeine while preserving the coffee's sweetness, clarity and character. It's one of the most respected decaffeination methods available.

Colombia is internationally renowned for its washed coffees and these beans are no exception.

Ripe cherries are harvested and de-pulped on the same day before undergoing an open-air fermentation in tanks or buckets for 12–36 hours. After fermentation, the coffee is thoroughly washed to remove any remaining mucilage before being dried using a combination of patios, parabolic dryers, solar dryers or mechanical drying systems.
