Our Colombian Decaf beans come from Latin America’s first decaffeination plant that opened in 1983. Situated in Córdoba, Veracruz; the operation has grown and today is recognised worldwide for its quality control, research, development and innovation.
Mountain Water isn’t just a name, the water used is melted glacial water from Pico de Orizaba [Citlaltépetl], Mexico’s highest mountain. It is a method of indirect decaffeination and the process is done by Descamex and the extraction process removes the caffeine whilst keeping the coffee’s flavour compounds.
It is done in small batches and 100% chemical free, resulting in a coffee that is 99.9% caffeine-free. This coffee tastes clean and bright with a full lingering body, a honey like sweetness with tart notes.
